Name: Remy

Age: 41, turning 42 this month

I mostly post about: My daily life and mental struggles, with some occasional political commentary, and I link to my book, movie, and streaming television reviews, not to mention a fantasy novel I've been trying to type up from my notebooks for ages. I do a lot of AI art and use them in original memes as well.

My hobbies are: Reading (more nonfiction today than before), writing, streaming television, and AI art. I used to be heavily into gaming but haven't played in a while, but I may next year depending upon my mental health.

My fandoms are: Formerly furry--I got off that sinking ship last year--though I still like anthropomorphic art--and I don't do fandoms anymore.

I'm looking to meet people who: Validate me and respect my unique perspective.

My posting schedule tends to be: Daily.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: I'm not a very big fan of Woke and gender ideology, or anti-AI people.

Before adding me, you should know: I am autistic, but have pretty much disowned my own people, really struggling mentally, incredibly PTSD from decades of trauma from my family and 18 years of psychiatric abuse, not to mention pretty much every online community I was ever part of.

Mood Theme in a Year 2026

[community profile] moodthemeinayear is now open for 2026!

Have you ever wanted to create a custom mood theme, but found yourself overwhelmed by all of the potential moods you'd have to make? Mood Theme in a Year has you covered! The community assigns three moods a week for you to design graphics for, with regular week long breaks. Draw, screencap, and/or animate your way to the custom mood theme of your dreams, with a community by your side to support and encourage you.

Not up for a full year/132 images? No problem! That's just the Maximum Track, which runs from January 1st through (roughly) the end of the year. If you want to make a smaller mood theme, you can follow the Minimum Track (18 images) or the Medium Track (34 images), or maybe somewhere between one of those and the Maximum Track. The goal of this community is to create a custom mood theme that you like, at a pace that works for you.

For those who missed it: While uploading and using a custom mood theme is restricted to paid accounts, as of December 2025, creating at least 18 mood graphics can earn you Dreamwidth points! Now, even if a paid account is out of your budget, you can still have the chance to upload and use your own custom mood theme. Read this post for more details.

The first three moods of 2026 are now up; thanks for reading, and I hope to see you there!

Name: Lots of them. Mainly Saros, Venus, Maggie, Andi, or Sewa. Pick your favorite. Or just call me sewagelag00n.

Age: 20

I mostly post about: My daily life, some stuff about my hexperiences regarding "mental health"/Madness. Occasionally I'll talk about media I've been into.

My hobbies are: Selfshipping! DIY alternative fashion, customizing clothes & making jewelry. Ballet. Writing & art. Doll collecting. Soft toys.

My fandoms are: Some Sword/Some Play (18+)! A very obscure little game that I love so much I've basically adopted one of the characters as my OC. Please I am so abnormal about these lesbians. Longtime Vocaloid fan, I think I'm coming up on 9 years now. I love Hatsune Miku (she's literally me) and recently Teto SynthV has captured my heart. Recently got back into FNaF (my favorite is Mangle!). Very normal about Neon Genesis Evangelion. Huge music nerd: love digital hardcore like Ada Rook, but also into stuff under the goth umbrella, industrial, shoegaze, new wave... I like a little bit of everything.

I'm looking to meet people who: Honestly, just looking for more interaction. People who post regularly and will comment on my posts.

My posting schedule tends to be: Usually every couple of days, but can be more sporadic.

When I add people, my dealbreakers are: Those who follow Abrahamic religions. I am a staunch antitheist and do not think highly of religious people. Other religious/spiritual people are on thin ice. Transmisogynists, racists, sanists, homophobes, other bigots.

Before adding me, you should know: My blog is very much 18+ and viewer discretion advised because I am into a lot of dark and sexual things. I am Mad and hexperience things like plurality (one of my alters sometimes posts on this account too) and self-harm and intense mood swings. I am very critical of the psychiatric system. I am actually not a lesbian. I really want my URL to be sewagelag00n instead but I don't want to pay $15 for a rename token. I am polyamorous and have 3 real-life partners and a whole host of fictional ones.

Had some ginger tea. Had a great dinner last night and good drinks at the Irish pub but the band kept playing very boring songs so I left, had to wait over an hour in freezing rain for the stupid bus and got woken up at six in the morning (on New Year's Day??!) by yet another phone scammer, then some idiot in my apt bldg pulls the fire alarm four times.

These questions were written by [livejournal.com profile] tabular_rasa.

1. Do you mostly drink tap, filtered, or bottled water?

2. Is it safe/recommended to drink tap water where you live? If not, why?

3. What does the tap water taste/smell like where you live?

4. Do you collect rainwater? If so, what do you use it for?

5. Do you/have you ever had restrictions on water use where you live? What did you have to change about your lifestyle?

Copy and paste to your own journal, then reply to this post with a link to your answers. If your journal is private or friends-only, you can post your full answers in the comments below.

If you'd like to suggest questions for a future Friday Five, then do so on DreamWidth or LiveJournal. Old sets that were used have been deleted, so we encourage you to suggest some more!

**Remember that we rely on you, our members, to help keep the community going. Also, please remember to play nice. We are all here to answer the questions and have fun each week. We repost the questions exactly as the original posters submitted them and request that all questions be checked for spelling and grammatical errors before they're submitted. Comments re: the spelling and grammatical nature of the questions are not necessary. Honestly, any hostile, rude, petty, or unnecessary comments need not be posted, either.**

River: New Year's Day 2026

Well, it's a whole new year. Or it will have been, if we can make it to the other end of it. So here are some things I hope to get done.

  1. I/we have to get the business up to the point where the authorities let us stay for another five years. Our understanding is that we don't have to be profitable yet, but we need to be able to prove that we're working on getting there.
  2. I still need to make a will. The hard thing, as always, is identifying an executor. Al, maybe? No, he has health problems.
  3. There are some accounts and other matters in the US that need to be closed out, and I need to set up an international banking account in order to make it easy to move money back and forth without having to use PayPal, debit cards, and wire transfers.
  4. I need to get back to the US at some point -- preferably enough before my birthday to renew my driver's license.
  5. I still need to release an album. It might just be cobbled together from old scratch tracks, but it really wants to get done.
  6. I should finish getting all of my websites updated, and my software more thoroughly documented and possibly refactored. (Splitting up MakeStuff would be a good start, along with making it self-documenting independent of GH.)
  7. I want to make some progress on my memoir. I owe it to my kids. I mentioned "introspective and autobiographical journaling" as part of a more general writing goal for last year. Maybe by making it more specific this year I can achieve more focus and make more progress.
  8. There is going to be a total solar eclipse on 12 August, visible from northern Spain among other places. We have reservations. This probably be my last good chance to see one. I really don't have very many bucket list items -- it's not something I'm in the habit of thinking about. But this is one.
  9. Physical self-care. I need to get myself to a dentist (and in general take better care of my teeth, which I haven't been doing for the last year), and connect with a source of CPAP supplies. Beyond that I'll settle for staying alive and in reasonable health for my age.
  10. Acting my age is another matter. I don't expect to do that. But that would come under mental self-care, along with self-kindness and self-compassion.

I was thinking of making some predictions for the next year. Political, mostly. But sufficient unto the day... We'll find out soon enough.

Thankful Thursday

Привет and welcome to our new Russian friends from LiveJournal! We are happy to offer you a new home. We will not require identification for you to post or comment. We also do not cooperate with Russian government requests for any information about your account unless they go through a United States court first. (And it hasn't happened in 16 years!)

Importing your journal from ЖЖ may be slow. There are a lot of you, with many posts and comments, and we have to limit how fast we download your information from ЖЖ so they don't block us. Please be patient! We have been watching and fixing errors, and we will go back to doing that after the holiday is over.

I am very sorry that we can't translate the site into Russian or offer support in Russian. We are a much, much smaller company than LiveJournal is, and my high school Russian classes were a very long time ago :) But at least we aren't owned by Sberbank!

С Новым Годом, and welcome home!

Thank you also to everyone who's been giving our new neighbors a warm welcome. I love you all ❤️

Welcome to New Year's Day 2026! 2025 has set a very low bar, but even so I don't have a whole lot of hope for improvement. Good luck, all. We'll need it.

I did a bunch of grocery shopping. I was considering going to another neighborhood to do some more fun shopping but it's cold and raining and I don't have a car so I think I'm gonna do that another day and just wait till tonight and then go out for dinner and go to the Irish pub for live music and that stuff. Anyway maybe I'll be lucky and it'll stop raining.
